ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to statistical analysis of reading habits and academic performances of students. Specifically, the study Investigated the relationship between study habit and student’s academic performance, assess the reading habits of University undergraduates, Compare the academic performance of undergraduates who have developed a study habit and those who do not have study habit and Assess factors influencing students study habit. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 259 responses were validated from the survey. The study adopted the social cognitive theory, theory of cognitive development by Jean Piaget. From the responses obtained and analysed, the findings revealed that there is a relationship between reading habits and academic performance. Furthermore, the academic performance of students with suitable reading habits improved. The study recommend students should adopt reading habits that results in increase in academic performance.
